POSITION DESCRIPTION: Loyola High School, is seeking a focused, dedicated, and qualified full time secondary school English teacher to join our staff for the 2022-2023 school year. This teacher will be responsible for areas of student engagement, descriptive writing, and literary analysis. This position reports to the Department Chair.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Create engaging lesson plan and inspire students to learn.
• Willingly teach students at all levels with understanding compassion and caring.
• Teach knowledge and skills in English grammar, composition, sentence and paragraph structure, vocabulary and proper word usage, self-expression and speaking.
• Demonstrate instructional practices that engage students in conceptual thinking, promote problem solving and creativity, and challenge students to achieve high standards of content mastery.
• Take ownership for student academic progress and show an active interest in student achievement.
• Provide individual and small-group instruction to adapt delivery to meet the needs of students with varying academic skill levels.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & SKILLS:

• A Bachelor’s degree in the subject area and Michigan teaching certification preferred. Master’s degree preferred.
• Have strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal have strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Teach knowledge and skills in English grammar, composition, sentence and paragraph structure, vocabulary and proper word usage, self-expression and speaking.

• Ability to multitask and integrate technology into workflow.
